Voter registration weekend in numbers: E Cape reaches target

Contralesa threatens legal action against state for discontinuation of king’s salary

The Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) has threatened legal action against the Eastern Cape government after it announced the discontinuation of jailed King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo’s monthly salary. The provincial department of cooperative governance and traditional affairs (Cogta) is also in the processes of recouping his February salary and this has raised major concerns among traditional leaders.
